Firefox: Tabs on Bottom / Add-ons & Tools

Nota bene: Content will be updated at irregular intervals.

Since Firefox 4 the developers have themselves developed a symptom that I like to call "chrome wannabe" and manage to annoy us with new designs.

Status Bar:
This one has been removed with Version 4.0 Beta 7 and is now used as an Add-on which can be downloaded here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/235283/
Then go to View --> Toolbars and activate the Add-on Bar.
Now go to View --> Toolbars --> Customize... and drag everything you need down into the Add-on Bar.

The Mozilla Support articel on this topic can be found here:

Tabs:
If you, like me, want the Tab Bar to be right over the browser window where the webpage is displayed, but below the menu and bookmarks, click with the right mouse button on the Tab Bar (somewhere where no tab is present) and deselect Tabs on Top.
Alternatively go to View --> Toolbars and deselect Tabs on Top.

Since Firefox 15 ist is no longer possible to simply deselect "tabs on top".
The following mozilla support article
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/put ... -on-bottom
explains why tabs on top are apparently better any why users should forgo their opinion and adopt mozilla's.

To get tabs back "the way they should be":
In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter.
The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.
In the Search field box at the top, type browser.tabs.onTop.
Double-click the browser.tabs.onTop preference to set its value to false.

In Firefox 29 the tabs have been forced to the top and the method to get them to the bottom has been changed ... again.
To get them back, go to Tools --> Add-ons --> Extensions and search for Classic Theme Restorer in the search bar at the top right. Download, install and restart FF.
Now go back to Tools --> Add-ons --> Extensions and in the line where it says Classic Theme Restorer select Change this add-on's options on the far right hand side. There on the first page (the Main Tab) you'll find a pull-down menu right under the heading Tabs that lets you change the position of the tabs.
